Griffin Gun Club Come shoot with us

HISTORY
The IHMSA organization started in 1976 with the purpose of promoting handgun silhouette competition. The object of the competition is to knock down metallic silhouettes (chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams) at various ranges to a maximum of 200 meters. The sport has spread to many countries and matches are shot all over the USA. Many different types of matches are shot and there is always one to suit any member of the family. The matches vary according to handgun type (.22 to big bore) and shooting position (standing to free style). We pride ourselves in our diversity as IHMSA is open to men, women and children of all ages and physical abilities. If you are physically challenged and interested in shooting, we have a PC committee willing to meet your needs.
To participate at any IHMSA sponsored match you must have, as a minimum, the following equipment and observe all Safety Rules as directed by the Match Director:
Safety Glasses, which must be worn at all times on the Firing Line during Firing Periods.
Hearing Protection must be worn at all times during Firing Periods.
All Spectators / Spotters, MUST observe the same rules as shooters while they are on the Firing Line.
Firearms must always be pointed downrange; except when they are being transported to a new shooting position.
During Cease Fire Periods, all Firearms must be empty and the action/breech open to provide immediate confirmation of empty status.
Firearms may not be handled during a Cease Fire period, other than to transport to another shooting position.
NO adjustment (e.g. sight adjustment or repairs) to Firearms can be made during the Cease Fire period; unless the Firearm is removed from the Firing Line.
